How to create groups

Creating groups inside your community or parish

Written by Leahna Villajos

Groups are subgroups created under a community you already manage: a parish, a ministry group or a Catholic organization. They're a good way to organize departments, teams, and ministries in one place.

How to create a group in the Tabella app

Before you begin: You must be a verified admin of the community where you want to create the group.

  1. Log in to your Tabella account

  2. Select your community

  3. Go to “Manage” section on the web or tap on the app

  4. Go to "Create Group" on web or "Create Community" on the app

  5. Select the type of group you want to create: a Ministry group or a Catholic Organization group

  6. Choose whether the group is directly associated with your community or independent

  7. If your group meets in person, select In Person to enter the location where you host meetings. If your group does not meet in person, select Online only

  8. Determine the privacy of your group

    • A public group is open for anyone to join, and anyone can see what is posted inside the group

    • In a private group, members request to join and must be approved by an admin. Only members can see what is posted inside the group

  9. That's it! You will see your new community on your communities section. Remember to upload a cover image and invite members
